A free online roofing quote template for roofing crews. Price each stage line by line, with waste and margin on every item, and it totals the lot with GST. Print a branded PDF, export to CSV or send it into NextMinute. Nothing's stored online.
Free. Just pop in your details to get started.

Enter the job once and the totals look after themselves. Same structure every time, so the extra box of fixings is always in.
Your logo and business name, the client, the site, quote date, valid-until date and payment terms.
Start from the roofing template and rename the stages to suit: strip-out, roof, flashings, gutters. Add a line for every sheet, fixing, crew hour and skip.
Units, rate and charge type on each line, with its own waste % and margin %. Sheets and flashing carry offcut waste. Scaffold hire doesn't.
Subtotal, GST and total, ready to print as a PDF with your logo, export to CSV or send to NextMinute.
New roofs, re-roofs, gutters and repairs. Built for roofing businesses running a crew across several jobs at once.

Nothing left off the quote
Flashing, fixings, underlay, access and disposal each get their own line. Nothing hides in the sheet price.
Margin on every line
Sheet metal and scaffold hire don't need the same markup. Set waste % and margin % per item.
A quote that looks the part
A clean PDF with your logo and terms, sent off the back of the ute.
How To Price It
Roofing quotes go sideways on the details. Price every job in the same buckets, add access and allowances, then GST.
Labour + Materials + Access and safety + Disposal + Margin and wastage + GST = Quote total
Measure up and price the labour. Area, pitch, valleys, hips and penetrations all change your labour and waste. Cost strip-out, install, flashings and clean-up at your charge-out rate.
List the materials. Sheets or tiles, battens, sarking, flashing, fixings, gutters and downpipes, with a waste % on anything you cut.
Add access, safety and disposal. Scaffold or edge protection, height safety gear, skips and tip fees for the old roof, then margin on every line.
Check these are in. They're the lines most often left off a roof.
These are the ones that bite on a roof.
Valleys, hips and penetrations always eat more than the plans suggest.
Scaffold and edge protection hire running longer than planned.
The old roof has to go somewhere, and the tip isn't free.
You won't see them till the old roof's off. Put an allowance in.
Once the quote's accepted, send it into NextMinute and it becomes a live job. Schedule the crew around the weather, keep photos and notes on the job, track time and costs as they happen, and invoice from the same place.

A roofing quote should include labour for strip-out, install and clean-up, roofing materials with wastage, flashing, fixings, underlay, gutters, access and safety gear, disposal of the old roof, margin and GST. Add an allowance for hidden damage like rotten battens and spell out exclusions. The free quote builder has a line for each, and NextMinute's roofing software keeps the same structure on every job.
Price a re-roof in stages: strip-out and disposal, battens and underlay, the new roof, then flashings, gutters and downpipes. Measure area and pitch, count valleys, hips and penetrations, and cost access gear for the full time on site. Add an allowance for rotten battens you won't see until the old roof's off. Check your labour rate first with the labour charge-out calculator.
To quote roofing per square metre, build the rate up from labour, sheets or tiles, battens, underlay and fixings for one square metre, adjusted for pitch. Enter the roof area as units and that figure as the $/unit, then add flashing, gutters, access and disposal as separate lines. A single square-metre rate on its own usually misses the extras that eat margin.
Allow wastage on anything you cut, like sheets, tiles and flashing. Hips, valleys and complex roof shapes create more offcuts than a simple gable. The quote builder defaults to 10% waste per line, and you can change it on each one so flashing and sheets carry different figures. Compare what you actually used against the quote in NextMinute back-costing.
There's no single right margin for roofers. It depends on overheads, job size, access and weather risk. The quote builder defaults to 15% margin per line and lets you change it line by line, so materials and scaffold hire can carry different margins. To see whether your margins hold up, compare actual costs to the quote with job back-costing.
Yes, the quote builder adds GST. It's set to 10% by default and you can edit the rate in the quote details. The quote summary shows subtotal, GST and total, so the client sees the full price. When the roof's done, NextMinute invoicing carries the same figures through to the invoice.
Yes, upload your logo in the quote details and it prints on the PDF with your business name, client details, quote date, valid-until date and payment terms. A branded quote sent straight after the roof inspection looks the part next to a handwritten one. In NextMinute, every quote carries your branding automatically.
No, the free quote builder doesn't store your quotes online. Export each one as a CSV before you close the page, and import it later to edit or reuse. To keep every quote saved against the client and job, start a free NextMinute trial and export your quote straight in.
Yes. Export a finished roofing quote as a CSV, then import it for the next similar roof and update the area, rates and client details. It's a quick way to keep re-roof pricing consistent. In NextMinute quoting software, you can reuse past quotes without the CSV step.
Exporting a roofing quote to NextMinute turns it into a live job with the same stages and line items. You can then schedule the crew around the weather, keep photos and notes against the job, record timesheets and compare actual costs to the quote while the work is still underway.
