"After trying nearly every job tracking app that is compatible with Xero NextMinute was the only one that suited our needs and worked well for us...Being in the painting and decorating trade NextMinute is easily adaptable to work for tracking our jobs and costings and for staff to do their timesheets on, it was simple to set up and the support is super helpful if you get stuck. I highly recommend you give it a try."

Common Questions

We’ve answered the ones we hear most from builders and tradies.

What kind of trades is NextMinute actually built for?

NextMinute is purpose-built for Kiwi residential construction trades like builders, carpenters, landscapers, roofers, and renovation specialists. It’s designed for teams who manage multi-stage projects and want to ditch the paperwork, rather than just quick one-off call-out jobs.

How much does a NextMinute subscription cost in NZ?

Pricing starts from $199 per month (plus GST) for a team of 3-5 users. All our plans give you full access to every single feature, and there are no annoying lock-in contracts so you can cancel anytime if you need to.

Does the software handle progress claims for bigger jobs?

It sure does. You can easily fire out progress payments or final invoices based on your actual costs and timesheets, which helps keep the cashflow steady throughout a long build.

Can I sync my job costs with Xero or MYOB?

NextMinute features two-way sync with Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks. This means your financial data and supplier bills flow between systems automatically, so you aren't stuck entering the same info twice.

How does the scheduling work when the weather turns rubbish?

The job planner uses a drag-and-drop Gantt chart with dependencies. If you get a week of rain, you just move the start date of one task and the rest of the schedule automatically shifts to match.

Is there someone local I can talk to if I get stuck?

We’ve got an Auckland-based support team who actually know the NZ building industry. You’ll be talking to a real local person, not an overseas call centre.

Can I track how much I'm actually spending versus my original quote?

The back costing reports give you a real-time look at your actuals versus estimates. You can see your margins for the whole project or break it down by stage, so you know exactly where you're making money or where things are slipping.

What's the best way to get started and try it out?

You can jump on a 10-day free trial without even needing a credit card. Our team can even help import your current jobs and quotes during the trial so you can see how it works for your specific business.

Can my crew use the app for timesheets on-site?

The mobile app is simple for the boys on the tools. They can log their hours, snap job photos, add site diary notes, and even view site plans right from their phone or tablet while they're on-site.

Is NextMinute a New Zealand owned company?

Proudly so! NextMinute is New Zealand owned and operated. We're built specifically for the way Kiwi tradies work and we're used by over 5,000 tradies across NZ/AU.
